Nothing is Hidden
In a recent conversation with my very kind mail delivery lady, it came about in our discussion the necessity of a good place for "restroom breaks." Having at one time been in the shoes of the laborer, compassion for such things will come easily. As we jokingly conversed over the issues females face in these circumstances, it was mentioned the danger involved with stopping along the road in a wooded area. Not only are there issues of poison oak and ivy, copperheads and slithering creatures for concern, but the all too common deer cameras and drones that are unseen until it's entirely too late. Yes, have a good chuckle! But, it's true! Is anything really hidden anymore? Can anyone pull off a truly private moment that is sure to never be "uncovered?"
Often it's said, and some have quoted it as scripture, "Be sure your sin will find you out." While we may not find this quote in a direct sense, it is obviously implied in consistency throughout the written Word of God. Our lives as believers require accounting. We should be able to give this account to anyone who would ask us a reason for the hope we have in Christ. The living testimony that we carry in our walk with the Lord is under constant observation. We may have the specific words of life to give to anyone in our path, yet, how goes that life example? Is there anything to hide?
In light of these thoughts, we must be quick to confess our sins and shortcomings. Repent and do the thing next that is before us as prepared for our life in the Lord. We may keep many secrets that are unknown to almost everyone, but we keep nothing from the One Who knows all. Any secret we think we may have needs to be approved by Him. That seems to take care of any sinful mischief; does it not?
When we discuss "hidden things" and "sin," we know we've entered a broad subject matter that has many interpretations. The important thing for the believer is to stay focused and readied with the Word of God. The Spirit will guide in the conviction of sin and guidance for moving forward in the life well lived in Christ.
Have you ever heard it said of someone, "That person lives as though their life were an open book?" Usually, when I've heard this remark, that person has a consistent example of godly living and a desire for true holiness. These examples are quick to forgive, quick to apologize, and quick to repent if in error.
With closing thoughts, we can say, live to please the One Who knows all. In loving Him well we will love others correctly also. This will cover a multitude of sins because they're washed away by the blood of Jesus. There is a day of accounting unto our heavenly Father for our walk here on this earth. Nothing is hidden. May we be ready to meet Him through the grace of our Savior.
P.S. Careful of those wooded areas!
In Christ,
Julie
